Spring handwork

Since easter is approaching, I was thinking what to make for my seasonal table. While looking through “The Nature Corner”, I came across darling little flower children, I believe were inspired by “Mother Earth and her Children by Sibylle Von Olfers” storybook. I crafted a Mother Earth with a combination of coton, velvet, wool felt, wool stuffing and needle felted hair. Pleased with the outcome, I continued to make the children, I had made four in total but two have been adopted into a friend’s home. Here displayed are Carl the Carnation and Lyla the Lily.

I was also thinking about what to put in my son’s easter baskets. After reading tales of Peter Rabbit to my youngest, I thought of  creating Owen a set of toys he can reinact the stories with. I’ve only managed to make Peter so far, but he is rather ravishing in his baby blue peacoat.

Don’t you think?
